Research, Tools & Consulting for Games

Tropes are tools that can make or break a player’s experience. We develop tools and undertake research to identify and evidence patterns in video game writing and design, and demonstrate when and how they might be subverted or averted. Our work aims to empower game makers to make informed choices about representation, agency, optionality, and dialogue, and enable you to make the games you want to make.

Here you’ll find information about our research, the custom tools we develop, and what we’re up to. You can also find out more about us and what we can offer you.
